Is it ok for an African-American girl like me to wash my hair 2-3 times a week?

i think that the only way to keep your hair growing is to keep chemicals out of it, also when you wash your hair let it air dry, keep your ends clipped so that it will grow quicker and use oil on your scalp. my mom takes care of my hair
