Braces Question...?!?

Ok. I'm getting braces in like 3 weeks. I don't get to have the colored kind :( . Anyway, I can choose from the kind that's clear on the top and metal on the bottom, or the all metal ones. All of my friends had/have the colored ones so they don't know. I mean the clear looks sorta cool..but I don't know. I mean like if I got the clear ones, & ate some cheetos would be top braces turn orange? That's the only problem..people also say the all metal one work better. Is this true? So umm..PLEASE HELP ME!! I'm sorry about that. So um yeah..answer please!!!! :)
